Kaji Tec develops experimental compressor for CNG cars overseas

Kaji Technology, the leading compressor manufacturer dominating the Japanese market, developed an experimental unit of high-flow type compressor for fuel filling of CNG automobiles overseas in November 2011.

Full-fledged shipments will start in April 2012 for distribution mainly to the Middle-east and Asian countries including India and Pakistan where the introduction of CNG automobiles is underway.

The developed unit is a horizontal compressor of oil-cooled type with discharge rate of 1,600 m3/h, discharge pressure of 25 MPa and motor output of 220 kW. In addition, the compressor attained a high-flow performance although it is so compact with a dimension of 2,700 mm × 4,200 mm × 2,250 mm(h) including piping arrangements.

With a price target ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 dollars in consideration of the highly-competitive market abroad, Kaji Technology is aiming at tie-up with an Indian machine builder to realize the local production of compressors as well as to upgrade and expand services.
