HORIBA STEC Korea completed new business base
HORIBA STEC Korea of the HORIBA STEC Group completed a new business base in Yongin City and started operation on April 1. The establishment of this new base is aimed to reinforce the production, sales and services of mass flow controllers for semiconductors. The total construction cost amounted to about 1.3 billion yen. The new base located about 40km south of Seoul City completed on March 31, 2017.
Outlining the new base, the building has a ferroconcrete four-storied structure having a total floor space of about 5,263m2 (The old building had a floor space of only 890m2).
On the first floor there is a clean room (about 349m2) which is used as a production base of MFC ranging from application developments to production. On the second floor there is a seminar room capable to accommodate about 60 persons. It is planned to hold a product introduction meeting for users about 30 times every year. The building has an inventory storage on the mezzanine floor, a clerical room and meeting rooms on the 3rd floor and a multi-purpose hall and a store room on the 4th floor. The company has 54 employees. On May 17, an opening ceremony was held at the site, with about 100 attendants including guests and people concerned like Atsushi Horiba (Chairman/CEO of HORIBA & Chairman of HORIBA STEC), Koishi (president of HORIBA STEC) and Kim (president of HORIBA STEC Korea).
Chairman/president Horiba made an opening speech, in which he said, “In 1977 HORIBA opened a liaison office in Seoul, and then established Horiba Korea to advance into the Korean market on a full scale. In 1991 HORIBA STEC opened a service center in Seoul, and ever since then we have established close relations with customers using the key station mainly of sales and maintenance. The newly completed base will contribute to the innovative upgrading of semiconductor technology of the Korean customers who have been leading the great growth in the semiconductor market.”
