According to Japan Robot Association, the number of welding robots delivered in FY2016 decreased to 40,476 units down by 2.7%, in an approximate sales amount of around 125.4 billion yen which is down by 1.3% on a monetary basis, comparing with the same period of last year.
In terms of the type of robot, the robots for arc welding delivered to the domestic customers amounted to 3694 units up 3.8% and those exported amounted to 14,535 units down 10.6%, while the domestic delivery of spot-welding robots amounted to 4750 units up 68.5% and those exported 17,309 units down 8.3%.
The above-mentioned outcome seems to show as one of its reasons that the once-active investments to the automobile-related industries in Thailand and Indonesia calmed down now.
