Iwatani to build a package-type H2 station in Okayama

Iwatani will build its first package-type hydrogen station within this year in Okayama Prefecture with a tentative name of “Iwatani Hydrogen Station Okayama Minami” which needs just half a space of the conventional type. It will be Iwatani’s 23rd hydrogen station and the first one in Okayama Prefecture.

In the station the main components of compressor, accumulator, pre-cooler and hydrogen dispenser are packaged in one unit, which is aimed to save the space and the cost of construction.

The off-site compressed hydrogen station of stationary type, having a supply capacity of 150Nm3/h enable to fill up three FCVs per hour at 82MPa, will be constructed in Iwatani’s own premises having a land area of 834 sq. meter.

The company thinks that Okayama Prefecture is at a key position connected to the Kansai, Shikoku and Kyushu districts playing the role of important relay point for filling and this station is one of the models for future deployment into local busy areas and also for the anticipated construction in the urban areas full of restrictions or limitation.
