TNSC’s waste gas abatement business grows remarkably

Taiyo Nippon Sanso is enjoying good sales in its waste gas abatement business amounting to 2.9 billion yen with an increase by 70.5% comparing with last year. The number of delivered units is estimated to be 60 more than last year, coming to 190 units.

As for the overseas requirements, following the good results in the previous year, there were continued orders for large equipment of CVD and etchers placed by the major liquid crystal manufacturers like Hon Hai Precision Industry and AU Optronics (AUO), making the overseas sales amount reach 1.7 billion yen up 50% and the number of units delivered accounted for 60% of overall deliveries. Regarding the factors causing the good pace of business, Takeyuki Awazu (overseas sales manager of electronics equipment department of industrial gas division) analyzed saying “The orders include those for expanding requirements in addition to new ones. The domestic good result of deliveries has something to do with the evaluation and trust abroad in terms of informed knowledge about the efficiency of the product. The equipment has given an impression of presence to liquid crystal manufacturers particularly in the combustible type of large-volume. The size of an overseas project is about several million yen each on a monetary scale.”

In this fiscal year, investments into large-scaled facilities for liquid crystal plants are flourishing continuously in the mainland China. So the company is aiming at expansion of its share mainly with the combustible type.

The domestic sales amount, on the other hand, is 1.2 billion yen up 70% from last year thanks to the great contribution of replacing demand for a detoxicating agent. Furthermore, in the field of demand for replacements, a big order was placed for a solar battery plant, and it brought a satisfactory operation rate to the semiconductor plants.

In addition, the company is going to make more efforts for the electronic parts field which has come up as a new demand for equipment. Teruaki Kanmuri manager in charge of electronic machinery showed his view that the process to use CF4 is diffusing though a volume per plant is still a little, and the company keeps an eye on the future trend.
