Effective from the delivery on September 1, 2017 Showa Denko will revises the prices of two types of specialty gases for semiconductors of hexafluoroethane (C2F6) and carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) with an increase by 500 yen per kg respectively.

There are now booming requirements mainly abroad for C2F6 to be applied to cleaning of chambers and CF4 for etching applications.

At the production side, on the other hand, SDK has decided to raise the prices this time in consideration of the price-hike of hydrofluoric acid for raw material and the great increase of electricity rate. SDK said it would implement negotiations with its customers so that the prices may be raised for the delivery starting on September 1.
