Global sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment grew by 12.9%
According to SEMI, the world market of semiconductor equipment marked an annual sales amounting to about 41.23 billion US dollars in 2016, which was an increase by 12.9% compared with the previous year.
In the regional terms, Taiwan was the largest-scale market selling 12.23 billion US dollars up by 26.9% which was followed by Korea selling about 7.69 billion up by 2.9% and China selling about 6.46 billion up by 31.8%, while Japan marked about 4.63 billion US dollars down by 15.7%. Taiwan has been keeping the largest market position in scale since 2014.
In addition, SEMI announced its market forecast of 2017 that Taiwan would increase its market by 4.1%, Korea by 68.7%, China by 5.9% and Japan by 13%.
