Kanto Denka incorporates new local company in Korea
Kanto Denka Kogyo is planning to produce specialty gases for semiconductors and LCDs in Korea. The new company named Kanto Denka Fine Products Korea to be established in November 2017 will be engaged in the production and R&D of specialty gases for a scheduled start to produce gases regularly in 2019.
The incorporated company and its new plant will be located in Cheonan of South Chungcheong Province, Korea. In May of this year Kanto Denka Kogyo signed an agreement with the south Chungcheong province for the capital investment in the province.
The capital of the new company at the time of incorporation was 2 billion won (equivalent to about 200 million) but more investment amounting to about 20 billion won is planned by the scheduled operation of plant in 2019.
Although the items of production are not known, we take note of the globally tight supply of carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) and tungsten hexafluoride (WF6) among the fluorine specialty gases in which Kanto Denka Kogyo is engaged under the booming demand for semiconductor memories. The new plant seems to take up the specialty gases which are running short.
