Daicel-Evonik’s bio-gas membrane module adopted for methane separation
The hollow fiber membrane module “SEPURAN GREEN” to separate bio-gas made by Daicel-Evonic has been introduced to the methane separation unit and the biogas plant being operated in Nanae-cho, Hokkaido of Hipotech which is engaged in the environmental engineering.
The product introduction at this time was based upon the “Bio-gas system formation model project of regionally recycling-oriented type” implemented by the Ministry of the Environment from 2014 to 2016.
The bio-gas generated in the waste treating process of garbage or wastes of cattle is purified to 99% or more to high-purity methane gas for storing in an absorbing tank at a low temperature so that the purified methane gas can eventually be used by dairy farmers or dairy plants as an alternative energy. The test was carried out to verify the system which is used as an alternative energy to replace the fossil fuels
After the Great East Japan Earthquake the local production for local consumption which recycles regional resources has been carried out extensively. Utilization of bio gases gives us merits of not only taking energy out of industrial wastes in the local areas engaged in dairy and agricultural farms, but also using the remaining digestive fluids in fields as a liquid fertilizer. Daicel-Evonik is planning to appeal positively the product mainly in such regions.
