Honeywell’s liquid blowing agent adopted in 300 cases to replace HFC
Honeywell announced that it attained more than 300 cases of adopting liquid blowing agent of on-site spraying type in the domestic construction of buildings.
The product is a liquefied gas containing only HFO-1233zd (E). It forms a hard urethane insulating material by being blown and sprayed at a construction site.
Honeywell’s registered trade name of the product is “SOLSTICE LBA.” It is characteristic in the accomplishment of a low GWP of 1 and of a similar or higher insulating effect than the current HFC blowing agent in spite of CFC-free refrigerant.
According to Honeywell, more than 300 construction cases of buildings adopting the product were dealt with by about 150 general constructors, which converted to the product from the conventional blowing method of HFC-245fa or water blowing. Honeywell is confident that the conversion from HFC will lead to prevention of global warming and the conversion from water will contribute to the improvement of insulating performances.
