Daihen advances into the plate welding field

“Daihen launched its welding robots into the field of thick plate welding. Packaging the welding robot, welding power supply, welding torch and robot controller, Daihen plans to sell from October the “ALMEGA PREMIUM Friendly Series” as a high-efficiency arc welding robotic set for thick plate welding requirements.

Daihen ‘s welding robots have so far been sold mainly to the automobile industries for their sheet welding as principal requirement. During these years there is a rising demand for infrastructures like construction machinery, bridge, steel frame and railroad vehicle in the emerging nations like China, Asia, India and Russia. Particularly, their needs for automated production lines are increasing due to the shortage of manpower or rising personnel expenses caused by the production increase among these countries.

Considering the situation, therefore, Daihen decided to develop the said package, positioning it as the first shot for advancement into the thick plate welding field, in order to do more business with the field.

Daihen has announced its sales target of “Arc Welding Robot Package for plate welding” to be 20 sets for this year and 60 sets for the next year including both domestic and overseas requirements, with 80% for construction machinery in category terms. The company is also planning to reinforce gradually its packages for steel welding and add its assisting function from now on.”
