AWI affiliates US manufacturer of CO2-related equipment

With effect from February 23 Air Water acquired the whole stocks for affiliation of TOMCO2 Systems Company which is a CO2-related equipment manufacturer of the US.

In February 2016, Air Water affiliated Taylor-Wharton Malaysia (TWM) to export cryogenic equipment to the North American market. TOMCO2, however, is AWI’s first attempt to set up a business base in the US. With the M&A this time as a stepping stone, AWI shows its intention to advance into the US market on a full scale.

TOMCO2 was founded in April 1970 with a capital of $530,000 (equivalent to 56 million) as an engineering company to consistently design, manufacture and maintain CO2 –related equipment. It is characteristic that the company deals alone with various facilities in the extensive CO2-related fields for water treatment or gas fire extinguishing as well as CO2 receiving/supplying equipment and tank trucks including the cryogenic tanks or vaporizers.

The sales of FY2017 ending December amounted to about 4 billion, nearly half of which accounts for receiving/supply facilities. They say its water treatment business to adjust pH of tap water using CO2 takes quite a high share with a number of deliveries to the public facilities.

At present TOMCO2 has only one business base in Loganville, Georgia mainly for the business in the US. Aiming for an expanded scope of sales in the future,
It approached to Air Water through TWM with which it had done some business before. Now that TWM has its business bass in the US, it will be involved in the management of TOMCO2.

Air Water has a policy to make TOMCO2 an important engineering base and sell the products of its group including TWM taking advantage of TOMCO2’s business channel, so that AWI’s business can be expanded in the US. When it comes to the deployment of Tomco2’s products in Japan, they say nothing has been decided yet.
