Fujikin opens nursery school in Tsukuba Advanced Technology Center

On April 2, Fujikin opened a nursery school named “Cosmos House” dedicated for employees’ children in the premises of its Expo Memorial Tsukuba Advanced Technology Center (Ibaraki Prefecture). The nursery school was intended to explore something unprecedented for future as well as to develop a good environment for employees to work in Fujikin for a long time. The fixed capacity to enter the school is 38 pupils in total including 5 infants aged 0, 10 infants aged from 1 to 2, 10 infants aged 3 and 13 infants aged 4 or over. At present 22 infants have already entered the nursery school which is applicable only to the children of Fujikin’s employees.

The wooden building is single storied having a building area of 281.96 m2 with a gross floor space of 253.81m2. The nursing time is 7:30 to 20:30 with an extended time of 20:30 to 21:30. Closed on Sundays and Year-end/New year days.

For the facility they have adopted a photovoltaic power generation (approx.22kW) system and FC Enefarm for household use as a co-generation system. Furthermore, Honda Fuel Cell CLARITY has been adopted as one of the emergency power supply sources. With the power source, therefore, the nursery school can be utilized as an emergency shelter at the time of large-scale disaster. The Tsukuba Advanced Technology Center is Fujikin’s key plant and has been up-scaled for enhancement year after year with expansions and new constructions.

In the industrial gas and the related fields of machine and equipment which are now suffering the serious shortage of manpower, this very first case of establishment of nursery school inside the business site is drawing people’s attention for the purpose to create an environment for employees to work in relief without any worry.
