TNSC builds new LCO2 plant in Iowa, USA

Continental Carbonic Products (CCPI) headquartered in Illinois under Matheson Tri-Gas fully owned by Taiyo Nippon Sanso builds an liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) and dry ice plant in Denison, Iowa. Any detail of the production capacity and the amount of investment has not been informed yet.

In the Midwestern US in which Iowa is located, the consumption of LCO2 and dry ice has grown well for cold storage mainly in the field of meat processing and food transportation. They say it was the reason why the construction plan of new plant was decided. The crude gas for the new plant is supplied from Andersons Denison Ethanol which produces bioethanol from grains in the same State.

The new plant is scheduled to complete in the middle of 2019. It will become Matheson’s 14th production base of carbon dioxide in North America. CCPI has two plants in Nebraska and Minnesota among those production bases.
