Showa Denko will implement price increases of chlorine, caustic soda, and sodium hypochlorite as of February 16, this year.

The company has been making effort at cost reduction to cope with the skyrocketing prices of raw materials and fuels such mainly as heavy oil, and with the tight supply of caustic soda in Japanese market. However, the streamlining effort by the company itself has reached the limit. In addition, worsening of profitability due to increasing of energy cost was also one of triggers for the raising price.
