DAIKIN Draws up Three-year Plan for Latter Half of FUSION20

On June 5, DAIKIN Kogyo made out a three-year plan for the latter half of its midterm business plan FUSION20 for the period from 2016 to 2020. In the midterm business plan which started in 2016, DAIKIN at first posted a target to sell 2 trillion and 500 billion yen for an operating income of 270 billion yen as an action plan for 2018. Now after ending two years of the first half, the company has got confidence to nearly accomplish the target for 2018 with a sales of 2 trillion and 480 billion yen for an operating income of 270 billion yen and has drawn up newly a three-year plan for the latter half of the term from 2018 to 2020.
  
For a target at the time of ending of FY2020, the company announced a new sales target of 2 trillion and 900 billion yen for an operating income of 348 billion yen. A capital investment for three years from 2018 to 2020 will be planned to be 360 billion yen and an R&D budget will be posted at 220 billion yen. As a priority field, Daikin intends to focus particularly on the creation of customer value by the A/C solution business with the combination of IoT technology and air-conditioning equipment.

As for the gas-related business, Daikin reinforces its challenge toward realization of lower GWPs in the area of next-generation refrigerants and gas business. Practically, it aims at a further diffusion of equipment employing R32 refrigerant for general air-conditioning, along with the expansion of the sales of low GWP gas R407H for freeze-refrigeration which has been in the market since 2017. Regarding further development of next-generation refrigeration equipment, Daikin plans to work out a decisive policy to develop a new refrigerant within the period of the said business plan.
