AWI affiliates Engineering Company of Singapore
Air Water acquired 60% shares of Power Partners Private Limited. (PP) of engineering company in Singapore and affiliated it. PP is engaged in the design and fabrication of uninterruptible power supply system which protects data and equipment during a power failure. With an integrated system comprising from the system designing to procurement, assembling, fabrication and maintenance, PP is enjoying the top share of the market in Singapore. Its major users include data centers, financial institutions and semiconductor manufacturers.
The affiliation of the company at this time is intended to cope with the demand for uninterruptible power supply systems to be used for the prospective data centers in line with the development of the data industries. AWI aims to utilize the know-how and the system as a new lineup of its engineering business which have been fostered by PP. AWI has been involved in overseas business mainly with industrial gases in the North America and Asia. AWI will have Singapore be its engineering center for industrial gas business in Asia along with the affiliation of PP.
The acquisition of the shares completed in August 2018.
AWI will keep its target aimed at Singapore and the other Southeast Asian countries even after the affiliation, but has no plan to develop such movements in Japan.
PP, established in October 2006, has 70 employees and its sales of the fiscal term ending December 2017 amounted to about JPY4 billion.
