TNSC Builds New ASU for Vietnamese Petrochemical Plant

Taiyo Nippon Sanso is going to construct a cryogenic air separation unit (ASU) and the relevant gas supply equipment for Long Son Petrochemicals which is a member company engaged in the petrochemical business of the Siam Cement Group located on Long Son Island of Bà Ria-Vũng Tau Province in South Vietnam.

On September 25, TNSC agreed with Long Son Petrochemicals to supply nitrogen gas by pipeline through Vietnam-Japan Joint Stock Company (VJG) which is TNSC’s affiliate in Vietnam.

The new ASU will start operation in 2021 and the liquefied gas generated along will be distributed by VJG to users in the neighboring industrial park. The production capacity of the ASU and the amount of investment are not opened to the public. TNSC commented about the Vietnamese industrial gas market that it is introducing foreign funds actively and growing at a stable pace with the background of the high growth rate of GDP.

In the aforementioned industrial area, as a matter of fact, Siam Cement which is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand is now promoting a construction project as the main player to make a petrochemical industrial park, part of which is the establishment of this petrochemical plant.

VJG is now developing industrial gas business bases, building up its head office with five gas plants and three sales offices in the northern regions around Hanoi and the southern regions centered by Ho Chi Minh. In order to get further presence all over Vietnam it has been planned to complete a new plant in the Phu My 3 Industrial Park of Bà Ria-Vũng Tau Province in the middle of 2019.
