Riken Keiki Launches Compact Portable Gas Monitor
Riken Keiki will launch for a worldwide release two types of new compact portable gas monitor responding to a multi-component detection from the spring of 2019. With a feature of about 30% down-sizing from the current type adopting a newly-developed dual sensor, the sales of the monitor is targeted at 30 thousand units in total for the first year abroad and at home.
The two types to be sold this time are GX-3R and GX-3R Pro. The former is a portable monitor applicable to detect four components of combustible gas, oxygen and toxic gas (carbon monoxide/hydrogen sulfide).
In the past Riken had GX2900 as a portable type to detect four types of gas, but with the development of a dual sensor to enable detection of two types of gas with a single sensor Riken has accomplished down-sizing of about 30% in dimension and weight with GX-3R. For reference the dual sensor detection adopts a constant potential electrolytic system available with two types with carbon monoxide + hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide + hydrogen.
GX-3R Pro is an upgraded type of GX-3R for 5 gas detection. It is responsive to sulfur dioxide or carbon dioxide in addition to the aforementioned two types of gas. Furthermore, it is loaded with Bluetooth for the first time as a domestic gas monitor manufacturer dealing with a portable system. So, the monitor makes it possible to mail various alerts to smartphones in tie-up with the dedicated application of RK-Link.
Unlike GX-3R, it can display in eleven languages including Japanese and also has battery specifications including dry cells. GX-3R is priced at 129 thousand yen (4 gas detection) and GX-3R Pro at 195 thousand yen (5 gas detection/dry cell detection).
