Daihen establishes a sales company in India

In July Daihen established a sales company called OTC Daihen India in Gurgaon, Haryana Province to market welding mechatronics products in India. The welding equipment market has been expanding in India.

Daihen established a representative office in India in 2007 and has been supplying technical support to its sales agents and users. As India has been growing steadily with projects involving large investments in railroad, shipbuilding, and electric power facilities, in addition to plants producing automobiles and two-wheeled vehicles, however, creation of a sales system which is appropriate for India had become an urgent necessity.

The welding equipment market has been growing rapidly in India. The market size seems to have already reached at 10 billion. What stands out is that US and European producers such as Esab and Lincoln Electric moved into the market earlier, but Panasonic Welding System revealed the construction of a new plant with a capacity of annual 25,000 units at the end of last year. Japanese producers are making a full scale effort to catch up.

The Corporate Planning Department of Daihen noted that it would expand its current 10 agencies to around 30 by operating one agency in each one province throughout India.
