AWI’s 17th VSU Starts Operation in Fukuyama Ekisan

On April 25, Air Water inaugurated the completion of plant in Fukuyama Ekisan (located in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Pref.) which was established with a capital of 50 million yen invested 51% by AWI, 29% by Chu-Shikoku AW and 20% by Fujii Shoji of the leading gas distributor in Fukuyama. It is AWI’s compact generator of liquid oxygen and nitrogen of high efficiency which is the 17th VSU.
In our interview before the completion ceremony Kiyoshi Shirai of AWI’s president said, “In the Seto Inland Area Air Water has two liquid production bases in Kakogawa City of the eastern part and Hofushi, Yamaguchi Pref. of the western part. We now have a new production base in Fukuyama City which is located just in between the two existing bases, and we expect to enhance our distribution effect and contribute to more stable supply to back up regional users in case of disaster.”
The production capacity of the new plant 700Nm3/h for LO2 and 1,600Nm3/h for LIN. The total investment amounts to 1.5 billion yen.
Air Water is also proceeding to establish Sanuki Ekisan to have the 18th VSU in Sakaide, Kagawa Pref. in the Shikoku Area of the opposite coast.
