AWI’s VSU18 in Operation
On May 20, the completion ceremony of VSU plant was held in Sanuki Ekisan which is jointly founded by Air Water’s group companies with a capital of 50 million yen by Matsuyama Sanso (40%), Air Water (30%) and Chu-Shikoku Air Water (30%).
It is Air Water’s 18th plant across the country as a compact VSU to produce liquid oxygen and nitrogen, the 4th one in Chu-Shikoku area following the VSU17 at Fukuyama Ekisan which was completed on April 25.
In the press interview held on the day President Shirai of Air Water commented, “The construction of this VSU is one of our themes to enhance disaster-preventing measures. As the two bases in the eastern and western areas can complement with each other now, our stable supply system has been reinforced for users. The plant size and production capacity have been designed to be the same as those of Fukuyama Ekisan’s VSU17 Plant so that it may work as a stand-by plant for each other. A series of these investments in the Chu-Shikoku Area are in a very meaningful position with view to Air Water Groups’ mission of regional contribution.”
The VSU18 Plant was built adjacent to Nihon Kaisui’s Sanuki Plant which is a salt manufacturer of the Air Water Group. The production capacity is 700 Nm3/h for either liquid oxygen or nitrogen. The total investment amounts to about 1.5 billion yen.
