Kitajima Sanso Starts to Supply LO2 to National Hospital of Myanmar

Kitajima Sanso of medical gas distributor headquartered in Tokushima Prefecture built a l0-ton LO2 tank in Myanmar National Hospital located in North Okkalapa, and started to supply LO2 to the hospital from June 1 for the first time in Myanmar.

As reported before, Kitajima of local affiliate with its medical O2 plant was established in January of this year, and is now endeavoring to create an environment in which treatments like in Japan can be made in Myanmar having only an under-developed supply system of medical gases and quality control.

The hospital has so far been supplied with about 1,500 oxygen cylinders per month, but as there have been various issues in management, health and safety and stable supply, the company took a plunge to create the LO2 supply system after discussion with the Ministry of Public Health.

A liquefied O2 tank is installed in the premises of plant, and the current piping system was renewed with expansion and 240 outlets have been provided.

As there has been no need to bring 47ℓ cylinders into hospital wards any longer since switching to the LO2 supply system, the issues related to health and safety have been solved. Furthermore, the stable supply of medical O2 has been enhanced, resulting in contribution to saving of management and running costs of the hospital.

Yusuke Konishi project manager of the company said, “The distribution system of medical O2 is going to change into a new one in Myanmar. To solve subsequent issues and drawing up of rules we wish to make our all-out enthusiastic efforts, so that we can contribute to the upgrading the medical gas in Myanmar.”
