AWI/Kairos Starts Selling Video Microscope System for 8K Endoscope Surgery

Kairos, Air Water’s affiliate engaging in R&D activities on 8K image device, developed a video microscopic system for 8K resolution endoscope surgery named “Micro Eight” and started to sell it from September 2.

On August 22, a press conference was held at Imperial Hotel Tokyo in which the detail of the product was described. The “Micro Eight” image was projected with a display monitor of 16 times resolution of the conventional high vision (2K) and 4 times of 4K ultra-high resolution, using the video microscope system for surgery consisting of the 8K main monitor of 70 inch, camera arm and system cart. With this system, surgeons can observe their surgery as precisely as a cell level keeping their head at a raised position, and can carry out easily and accurately a super micro surgery like the minute lymph anastomosis which has so far been difficult.

Starting with sales mainly to the medical institutes of plastic surgery, neurosurgery and cardiac surgery, Air Water foresees extensive applications to pathological examinations and regenerative medicine targeting 100 units (including lease) for three years. Furthermore, not limiting to the medical field, Air Water puts into sight the applications to the industrial fields for quality examinations and precision tests of products for which a broad range of demand can be expected.
