Honeywell Ties with Parker Hannifin in R466A business
On September 19, Honeywell tied up with Parker Hannifin to promote the diffusion of new refrigerant R466A for multi-type air conditioners (VRF) for buildings.
R466A (trade name: SOLSTICE N41) is a refrigerant developed by Honeywell to replace R410A. It has a feature of having the compatible properties of low GWP and non-combustibility (Class A1). A low GWP of 733 has been attained which is 65% lower than that of R410A.
The gas used is a mixture of R32, R125 and CF31 (trifluoroiodomethane). The counterpart of the agreement is Parker Hannifin’s SPORLAN Division which sells the control devices and various related parts named “SPORLAN Series” for air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and devices. The SPORLAN valve above all is said to be well known among the air-conditioning and refrigeration business world.
Parker has already finished the selection of a material that is compatible with R466A and the optimization of their parts. It seems that in harmony with the sales of the refrigerant Honeywell will going to supply the market with its products compatible with the SPORLAN brand.
Along with the announcement of this tie-up, C. La Pietora Vice-president & GM commented, “We are going to launch SOLSTICE N41 to the market toward the end of this year. To this end, we are making environmental preparations as to the compatible parts including this tie-up with Parker.”
