On October 25, Iwatani Corporation of America bought Advanced Specialty Gases (ASG – located in Reno, Nevada) an industrial gas distributor who is mainly selling specialty gases like SF6 to the major electric power companies. ASG is also well versed in handling semiconductor specialty gases having transfer filling facilities for them, pressure testing devices and equipment to store tens or more types of gas.
Iwatani Corporation of America has been expanding its industrial gas business in the US, having started to operate hydrogen stations at four locations in the State of California in May of this year.
This acquisition is also part of such activities. Although ASG’s business scale has not been disclosed, it seems to be aimed for the reinforcement of Iwatani’s industrial gas business especially in the electronics market of the western part of America.
