Nikkiso Enjoys Demand of ASU Turbo Expander for FY09 in China
Nikkiso, the foremost industrial pump manufacturer kept enjoying good sales of turbo expander for ASU in the semiconductor field of China for FY2019 ending December 2019 following the result of the previous year.
Regarding the liquid hydrogen pump which Nikkiso proposes for hydrogen-related equipment, a full-scale activity for proposal has been started in consideration that the booming trend for investment in hydrogen stations is getting active in such Asian countries as Japan, China and Korea, as well as the US market going ahead in development.
In 2017 Nikkiso affiliated Cryogenic Industries (CI) of the USA producing cryogenic equipment, and took part in the field of industrial gases. Based on its abundant global experiences in large-sized pumps for the application to the LNG field, Nikkiso is aiming at a comprehensive follow-up of the value chain of LNG with the lineup of the medium-sized pump, turbo-expander, Cryoquip’s heat exchanger and Cosmodyne’s engineering techniques of ASU.
The turbo-expander business in 2019 was also led by the semiconductor field in China. Tomoyuki Seno, manager in chief of Cryogenic Business Department of Industrial Division reviewed saying, “Since it is quite a vital component of ASU, we are in a position to get an inquiry upon arising of customer’s requirement. Especially, there was a trend of more investments for new equipment rather than for renewal of the existing facility.”
As for liquid hydrogen pumps on the other hand, they had been applied to the requirements in connection with the filling facilities of FC forklifts in the US during these several years. In 2019, however, the market related to liquid hydrogen stations said to be active in the Asian area including mainly Japan, China and Korea. Seno also commented, “It was the year when concrete movements just started to show up from the blueprint phase drawn by all those countries. With the liquid hydrogen and evaporator as a starter, we are undertaking to present our proposal associating the know-how we have fostered in the field of LNG.”
From April 2019, Nikkiso integrated the communication window functions between Nikkiso and the CI Group to enhance their comprehensive power of corporation, and restarted with a new reorganized system consisting of five business units – pump, evaporator, engineering, solution (in application developments) and services. He also added, “An ideal style should be to present a packaged proposal taking advantage of mutual resources. In fact, our effectively adaptable responses are well reputed by customers and we expect it will be of help to raise needs in future.”
