Tohoku Air Water removed the Akita Gas Center (Akita City) which had been working as the only cylinder filling plant in Akita Prefecture to the premises of its Akita Plant located in Katagami City, and started operation from April 1.

The product lineup includes O2 and medical O2, N2, Ar and CO2. As for the installed cold evaporators, they increased storing volume of LO, LN and LCO2, and newly built a tank for LAr.

Regarding the demand for gases around the area, there are lots of requirement in the field of precision sheet, steel frame and electronics parts. In addition, Yokote City in the south-east area of the prefecture is now having entries by automobile parts plants one after another.

Air Water had been running the gas center for 40 years in Kanaashi, Akita City, but the aged plant facilities and the adjacent development of housing land forced removal to the premises of Akita Branch where there is Air Water’s Akita Distribution Center. They stated to construct the gas center in July 2019.

With the integration, Air Water expects an effective operation from the production of cylinder to logistics and sales. Practically, Air Water is proceeding with the policy of one production base per prefecture in the Tohoku District with the background of a reinforced internal regional collaboration.
