TNSC Merges Two Medical Affiliates

With effect from October 1, Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC) merges fully-owned affiliates IMI and Pacific Medico with the former as the surviving company.

IMI is a time-honored medical equipment trading company established in 1974 which is engaged in importing respiratory equipment like artificial respirators for emergency or ICU treatments as well as body temperature adjuster or biodata monitor for the same application. In October 2018 Taiyo Nippon Sanso had already acquired 100% of IMI’s issued shares for affiliation.

On the other hand, Pacific Medico founded in 1998 was affiliated by Taiyo Nippon Sanso in October 2013, is engaged in importing a home respirator for tracheostomy patients and producing a sleep tester or pulse oximeter, having a feature of manufacturer.

The basic corporate policy to enlarge the medical business is to grow up “Advanced Medical Treatment,” “Home Health Care” and “Respirator.” The merger at this time is positioned to reinforce the latter two policies.

By merging the two companies each engaged in supplying products to a different territory though in the same respirator-related equipment business TNSC aims with the merger to make a comprehensive service company for an extensive scope from an acute period to home healthcare.

Along with this absorption merger all the employees of Pacific Medico are transferred to IMI, and an estimated scale of sales after the merger is not disclosed.
