On August 7, New Cosmos Electric started to sell three types of Bluetooth-attached gas detector XX-353-ⅡBT Series.

The new product is a portable gas detector to secure safety of workers who attach it on their clothes. It consists of three types of the simultaneous detection of O2/CO, O2 and CO each alone.

In the steelmaking industry especially various accidents are presumed around blast furnaces attributed to such as the emission of CO due to incomplete combustion or the lack of oxygen inside a casting mold. To this end, a monitoring system to identify worker’s position has so far been required for a quick rescue operation in emergency securing safety of each worker.

From June 2019 New Cosmos Electric developed a Bluetooth-attached model of XOC-353-ⅡBT for sales to some steelmakers which enabled identifying the position of the workers who keep detectors from a remote location utilizing steelmaker’s own system. In contrast with the system, the new product realized to identify worker’s position in a linked use of the dedicated application of smartphone in place of the system.

Concretely, the detector automatically sends by Bluetooth gas alarm information to the dedicated application, which dispatches the information and position data to 100 registered mail addresses at the maximum.

The major feature of the change from the conventional system for the steelmakers is that all you have to do is prepare a smartphone to introduce instead of company’s own system.

In addition, the product makes it possible to show in real time the data of gas concentration and a trend graph. A well-contrived device is also provided with the color liquid crystal on the body.
