New Cosmos Develops World-first H2 Alarm for Households being Verified for Green H2 in Europe
New Cosmos Electric developed the world-first hydrogen alarm HL-310 of battery type, which has been adopted for the verification project “H100 Fife” to utilize and apply green hydrogen now being promoted by SGN of British energy company.
The alarm employs a heat ray sensor of own development of the semiconductor type (MEMS-CH Sensor) which has attained downsizing and energy-saving by application of the MEMS technology. It is characteristic that the sensor enables a continuous use without maintenance for about five years though powered by battery.
The “H100 Fife” for which HL-310 has been adopted this time is a verification project to use and apply hydrogen in general households of people, now being implemented in Fife Council Area of Scotland.
Targeted at 300 houses of the regional residents in the aforementioned council area, it is attempted to supply 100% green hydrogen by pipeline from offshore wind power generation which is used as heat source for boilers and cooking stoves. HL-310 installed in the ceiling area of each house is being used to detect leakage of hydrogen.
During these years New Cosmos Electric has been reinforcing attempts to engage in the hydrogen market such as the explosion-proof gas detection for hydrogen stations and hydrogen sensor to attach on FCV cars. As the hydrogen alarm for households at this time is positioned as part of it, it seems to be one of the important items to support the company from now on.
