Nippon Sanso Holdings Acquires Oceanian Industrial Gas Company 

Nippon Sanso Holdings through NSC (Australia) of its Australian affiliate is going to acquire all the shares of Coregas, Blacksmith Jacks and Core Gas NZ (hereinafter called Coregas Group) which are now engaged in the industrial gas business owned by Wesfarmers.

The acquisition amounting to A$770 million is planned to complete in the middle of 2025. 

The Coregas Group has a sales network in all over Australia and New Zealand being engaged in the production, sales and the related services of industrial gases, medical gas and specialty gas (SPG) as well as welding-related businesses. In Australia the group is positioned as one of the industrial gas majors.   

In May 2024, Supagas which is an Australian subsidiary of Nippon Sanso Holdings signed a purchase agreement also with Westfarmers Kleenheat Gas to do the LPG business in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. 

With the addition of the Coregas Group at this time, Nippon Gas Holdings will realize an expansion of its business area of the industrial gas business.

Furthermore, the Coregas Group is supplying air-separation gases to the major blast furnace manufacturer while Supagas supplies LPG for civilian consumers and industrial gases mainly for food/beverage use.

The supply of industrial gases is mainly for various manufacturers like metal, mining and metal processing fields, which means to enable a possible expansion of customer bases. The company wishes to activate a synergy effect combining the two companies each having a different customer base and product portfolio.
