Nippon Sanso HoldingsNippon Sanso Holdings Posts Extraordinary Loss of \26 billion in FY25 related to Low Carbon BusinessNippon Sanso Holdings
On March 25, Nippon Sanso Holdings announced to post in FY 2025 account ending March an impairment loss (accumulated to 26 billion yen approx.) in connection with the discontinued production of hydrogen in the American HyCo business. It follows that the operating income amounted to 163 billion yen decreased by 15 billion yen. Therefore, the profit for the term attributable to the parent company turned down to 10.5 billion yen less amounting to 96.5 yen.
According to the Human Relations Dept., the plant is a hydrogen supply equipment (HyCO equipment) for the renewable diesel business of Vertex Energy (in process of bankruptcy procedures per Chapt.11) which has been handled by Matheson Try-Gas in the U.S. After posting partially the loss (10.799 billion yen) of the project as of the third quarter, under the new sponsor they have been looking for an opportunity to restart the project, but they judged it is very difficult to restart the operation. In consideration of the recent macroeconomic environment like the Trump Government Policy of the US., they have now come to judge to post newly 15.24 billion yen ultimately. For information, they do not foresee any further occurrence of additional loss in connection with the above mentioned green-hydrogen projects, but reviewing is still going on one after another. Anyway, it seems to cause quite a few influences to the industrial gas field.
